This thread was just stolen from another forum, and no I feel no shame for doing it :D

1) Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley version

2) Always look on the bright side of life - Life of Brian Sound track - Just to see the look on Grannies face when they all sing 'Lifes a piece of sh1t..." in a church :'D

3) Benny hill theme tune. Just to see would any of the women there run around in their undies :D

I thought this was a serious thread! With taste like that you almost deserve to be having a funeral (I don't mean anything bad :) )

As an aging hippie the song for me would have to be "Bird on a Wire" by Leonard Cohen.

I won't be at Funky's funeral, sadly, I'll be too busy that weekend driving her TVR round the Ring of Kerry at 140mph being loosely followed by upto eight Gardai helicopters.

If I die soon, can you all turn up at the funeral and bring my local GAA-lovin'/sheep shaggin'/beer drinkin' village to a halt with a procession of supercars and generally be proud to be there? Hugh Jass's Impreza STi Wagon would make an excellent hearse with the seats folded flat. You can put an Octane flag on my coffin.

Funky, I'd appreciate it if you could do some really creative wailing, banging on the coffin etc, saying things like "why, why, why... the p0rn industry just won't be the same without you" etc.

That's the best one yet! Any objections to us strapping your frozen corpse upright in the passenger seat of one with some sunglasses on?

Good man, Wheelnut. Auld Lenny, you can't beat him with a big stick.

I find Leonard too cheery for funerals though. Nick Cave's "And no more shall we part" would be a good fit.

Tomaso Albinoni's adagio in G (or at least Giazotto's arrangement of it) is what it'll be when my coffin is wheeled out to a waiting DS hearse. Or played through a pair of cheap headphones clapped around a plastic urn - who knows?

What about "Fade Away" by Dobie Grey?

(I think that's the title...

Give me the beat boys to loose my soul,
I wanna get lost in your rock'n'roll....etc etc)

is kim's version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwOxdoJRaeM) too soppy for a funeral ?

or would you get away with frank's earlier one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AsRrQLY5s_8) ?

what's up with youtube embeds lately ? most don't seem to work anymore.

The Blue Danube Waltz as my coffin enters the furnace (you're a nerd if you get this).
Actually, in all seriousness, I'd probably pick "The Great Gate of Kiev" for myself, but since I'll be dead and it really won't make a blind bit of difference to me, let them pick what they want to hear, be that Britney Spears or Beethoven, Led Zeppelin or Lou Reed.

There's a lament played by Davy Spillane on the Riverdance soundtrack called 'Caoineadh Cuchulainn' or similar. That'll do me, boss!

i've already told herself that I want a little 'GTi' badge stuck to the end of the coffin where my feet'll be.

start it off with a weepy number: Gerry and the Pacemakers, "You'll never walk alone"

then try to cheer them up a bit: Monty Python, "Always look on the bright side of life"

and then as the final procession is getting under way : Frank Sinatra with, "I did it my way"
