Makes you think, especially when the U.S. police use their footage to deter car chases, and as a result, as a rule they never show footage of the ones who get away.

As a result, the only chases you see are Chevy Blasers and aging Pontiacs, the BBC version was much better where the guys in the Impreza Turbo wiped the floor with the chase car ;D

Unfortunately no, I did a quick google but I couldn't find it, it's from about ten years ago in the UK. They're chasing an unknown Impreza Turbo down some backroads, there was a coat stuck in the boot dangling over the reg so they never got the identity of the car.

The Impreza driver literally played with them going through the countryside, then he just nailed it. Within about a mile, the cops abandoned the pursuit, word has it that clip is what led to the UK police investing in cars like Mitsu VR4's and Impreza Turbo's!!

ze coppers in oz had to invest in Evo's coz they couldn't keep with the bank robbers weapon of choice, which was another evo... the auld big cc engined RWD yokes they had couldn't hack it whooring around street corners..

if yer ever being chased by the cops for whatever reason and they get the helicopter onto you head for an airport. its restricted airspace and they cant fly withing a couple of miles of it afaik. now why yed be running from the cops i dont know but hey....

the best police chase ever was when there were bank robbers in 2 cars an evo and an impreza. They were going so fast on the motorway the helicopter was losing them. They split up and the cops stayed after the impreza. He got away for a while and went to get petrol and while one of them went to pay the cops spotted them and they took of leaving yer man in the petrol station. They used a stinger and got his tyres but he stayed going at over 100mph until he crashed. Classic stuff

Have a good one at home of an E30 M3 being chased in the States by some big engined heap of a Camaro.... the guy driving is only 15 and the cops barely manage to keep up. At the end of the video he's supposedly caught when the engine blows, but its actually a section of the clip from earlier where he slams the brakes and does a u-turn - the cloud of smoke being that of dust from the road. Good entertainment - still a little scumbag at the end of the day though....

The commentary is brilliant as well, a few good giggles.... and Cletus the cop is brilliant too... watch out for where the BMW 'runs out of luck'!!! amazingly similar to where to cop car almost slams into the back of the M3 when the driver does a u-turn... :'D

I just got round to watching it now, it definitely looks very rigged indeed. I reckon that guy actually got away, and he didn't hit the 'stinger' either. I love the bit where the cop car spun out, very grass tracking!

Cop car was supercharged I think, M3 was standard afaik

That one with the EVO and SUBRU is my fav.i still get a good laugh out of the guy getting left behind at the petrol station.the cars loosing the helicopter was very "Gone In 60 Seconds".
Has anyone seen the irish car chase they showed on a US show?the comentator was shocked that the cops and the thief could keep the cars under control going flat out down country lanes. i only ever seen that once.
