Howdy all,

Just noticed yesterday that the rear driverside footwell is absolutely soaked, Im talking splashing wet! Today due to non stop rain, the front passenger side A pillar lining is soaked and its literally dripping from the pillar lining down onto the front passenger footwell which will end up the same as the back one at this rate.

a quick google shows this up as not uncommon, but what I havent found is a definate cause/cure. Any ideas? Obviouly if the rain ever stops Ill check door and sunroof seals but is there another possible reason and anyone know how I can avoid stealer prices for the seals? (back door and sunroof)

are there any air vents going into the footwells - check where these connect to in the engine bay and see if its blocked up with leaves and crap - happened in the audi and few vws on me - literally the air vents end up like gutters for rainwater coming into the car

use a bit ofan old hanger or something to unblock the rain water chanels

front one is definately sunroof related. coming along roof lining and down the a pillar can only be a perished rubber there I would think.

back one is a little more confusiong but more googling has given me an idea, seems to be a possible leak point in the rear wheel arch that can block and cause flooding must check it out when rain fks off

Open the roof and check the sunroof drains are not blocked, also look at where the drain pipes exit in the front and rear wheel arches, they could be blocked there with mud.

I had leaks like that in a Golf in the past and it actually came from round the windscreen seal. Only cure was a new one. Just a thought.

it's almost certainly blocked drains - around the sunroof and at the base of the windscreen. a good clean out should solve it. did for me anyway.

cool, ill try that for the sunroof leak, It looks like a perished seal on the back door but will investigate more.
