Any recommendations on what tyres I should get? I was thinking of the toyo T1-R's from k-tec but buy them over here.

You'll get T1R off www.Camskill.co.uk for about €50 each delivered. I found somewhere online today, I can't remember where, that was selling 195/45 r16 Michelin Pilot Exalto 2 for £83 each.

edit: Blackcircles have the PE2 for that price.

Get the PE2's unless you're going to be doing a load of trackdays. In fact, at that price I'll order 4 myself next week.

I only put on two new T1R on Friday, had I seen the PE2 for sale at that price I would have gotten those instead also.

Chloe has EATEN a pair of front PE2's in under 5,000 miles :( Chronic understeer the past few days (ColmE30 probably got a good demo of that last night....), checked the tyres this morning and they're completely shot.

I'll be getting the tracking checked to make sure it's all ok....wear isn't even across the width of the tyre with the insides lower, but she's running a lot of camber and has never worn tyres evenly. I had hoped they'd last longer than this to be honest. :dizzy:

That's fairly shocking for Michelin's Derek. Back to T1R's or Falkens so. Much better value.

My friendly neighbourhood tyre fitter has 4 Proxes that will fit the MX5, €50 a corner fitted. Good deal or ar they past their sell-by date?

For €50 a corner I would snap them up vdubbin, thats just plain cheap and they are a perfectly good tyre when they've plenty of thread. Just be careful on the cold mornings, and be prepared to get rid of them before they get to wear markers.

I'm still kinda hoping my tracking is out or something. Otherwise I'm a tyre killer of epic proportions. I'll be getting a pair of PE2s again though. They had more wet grip when bald with steel showing through than my last T1Rs had at the wear markers.

vdubbin - check are they the T1-R or the CF-1 - the CF-1 are no better than a random no-name tyre.

Still haven't got my new tyres fitted ;( Should be happening this week hopefully.

But, in better news, well kinda better news anyway, Chloe has managed to scrub about 3mm off the fronts on my spare wheels over the past 3 weeks. So, there's something else afoot....

The Toyos hardly make 8 - 10,000 miles but they are good value.

Much less if you track them :hat:

My fronts are nearing the wear markers and breaking traction is very easy. Far too much under steer too.

Time to go shopping me thinks.

I thought it was a gardening question ?

I have four Toyo T1-R under the 2.2 D4D Toyota Verso at the moment,
and I can't fault them.

Another vote here for the T1R's :)

T1Rs?! *spit* ;)

I haven't gone near the bushes yet. New tyres on, straight to the laser tracker to see what's up if anything. I'll work from there then. No rattles or bangs or anything so I cant really see it being bushes?

Is it possible for a diff to like...lock? Permanently?....

I had T1Rs on the Legacy and thought they were shocking... Car is probably too heavy tho. GE Eagle F1 Assyms are awesome 8)

Ash loved the T1Rs.... apparently she rathers understeer to oversteer..... Woman make no sense :dizzy:

Woman make no sense :dizzy:

They rarely do Evin :hat: Yep, I'll regret saying that later

I had a nightmare with T1Rs when I had them, couldnt get rid of them quick enough. These PE2s are fabulous. I just have to figure out why Chloe is eating them.

Car isn't pulling to one side or anything. Maybe tramlining a little more than usual. Hopefully something is just a little out of whack geo wise. If she goes through this set as quickly as the last I'll be looking for some Hero tyres next.

I found Falken FK452s to be superior to the T1r for the same price.

Still don't last though!
