Cold (reasonably), wet ( ) and windy ( :( ) tonight. But I love passing everyone out on that wonderful carpark known locally as the road from hell. One day I think I will just stop at the pochin stil and watch the traffic not go anywhere. :'D
you'll drop it yet and just when you do, i'll be there... laughing., and your bike will be a total write-off, and dogs will come along and piss on it.

You should have seen me when I dropped my old Z1000 in a petrol station forcourt in London. Couldn't stop laughing.
Only written off one bike and that was a drunk driver turning across my path. Mind you I did manage to write off his car as well. And the compensation was nice though, as was watching him being put off the road for a couple of years.

Bikes are good for people who want to inflict suffering on themselves and others (and as door stops of course).
Why don't you get one with an umbrella and wear mittens?

Technician,
Can't remember the year, but I do remember it was an A1 model.
Justin,
Who's laughing. It was wet & windy tonight but I didn't mind. I was home a lot quicker than anyone else on the Naas Road, the bike is doing about 35km per L and a years road tax is €67. Insurance is actually cheaper than my car too.

We saw a picture somewhere on the net of a bike burried in the side of a little French car, was that you?

Kildare dude, I'd guess at a '77/'78 model so. Lovely machine. Was trying to track down a mid-80's Z-thou last year without luck. Not common in Ireland at all at all. Decided in the end to turn the search towards the GPZ900R and I lined up a few to see, sadly most were in less than mint condition although I almost bought an '85 GPZ750R for an even grand. In the end the 60k miles just put me off and the owner hadn't yet done a couple of critical mods that were coming up. Still like a z1000 if I saw one around. Even as a project/weekend bike.
Alfa - any trumpet in particular? Th Rocket will never sell here - waaay too expensive. Why buy a Daytona 650 when you can have a ZX6R for a mere grand more? Likewise a CBR600 - not my cup of tea though. The 955i is practically a dinosaur. Best bike in the current Triumph lineup is probably the Sprint RS/ST - although Ireland has never been a big market for large sports tourers really. When they bring out a serious rival to the Blade or the R1 I'll have a look again.

Guys - why don't I see more Triumph motorbikes (the new ones) around? Is there some prob with them which is making them rare. I thought those would sell like hot cakes but I can't remember seeing one around here ever - except mabey for the odd English tourist :???:
cos they keep breaking down. lol
look at my profile. I have a 595, anfd i know a few people who have hinckly triumphs ranging from speed triples to st's
the 595 is very fast (held off a race prepped gsxr 1000 at nutts corner) when ridden well. loads of midrange torque. bit of top end bit of bottom end. tops out about 165 - 170.

the 600 daytona daytona was voted second in class behind the cbr6rr for the past couple of years. with the 650 motor and the extra midrange i would imagine it would piss all over the zx6r, the zx6rr without race kit is less of a bike than the zx6r
im gonna make an assumption here and assume you ride a zx9, and you call the 955 a dinosaur? thats like a teradactyl saying a trex is a dinosaur. they are both old and way behind the competition, but with bikes you can have the newest shinyest bike that will do mad speeds and still get whumped by a 15 year old 250 stroker. It all depends on the rider.

No but the same idea. Suzuki B120 (125, showing my age now) Doing 30mph. Tw** waiting to turn right across my path decides to do so when I'm about 20 yards from him. Buried bike into his front passenger door & I take off, bounce off roof & land in road on the other side. Broke my wrist and learnt that boots are better than shoes. Still have the scars on my toes!! Off duty policeman was a witness. No messing. Although I had to be breath tested also because they did the other guy. Did that in the back of the ambulance!

I fully agree. My yoke is past it now (was it ever there?) and is really only a sporty sports-tourer at this stage. Never had a spin on a 595, that's something we'll have to change when you get out for one of the runs here.
Seriously, the 955i didn't exactly break the sales records, even among Triumph customers and I would still pic a zX6R over a Daytona 650 on looks alone. The ZX6 is probably the best 600 on the market right now.

yeah - we might be able to arrange something tech. i know kawa are going back to their roots and producing nice bikes and all, but i think id pick the tona over the ax6, and the cbrrr over the lot of them. 15000 rpm redline, 115 bhp, 170 ish mph. unreal handling.

CBR-RR, kidding right? You're bucking a serious trend there lenny. Dull as...*yawn*, jesus I can't finish the sentence.*
* haven't ridden one to be fair. Ninja kills it in looks any day of the week though.

yeah yeah i know its not being original, but most of the people who buy em cant ride em, so would be nice to go out and ride it properly, round the outside of people etc.
plus points are the handling, reliability, looks, only bad point is the fact that everyone has got one.
ninja looks ok, but im not mad on the ram air big hole in the front of the fairing. Its too angular or something. now if it was a zx6rr with race kit then that wouldnt be too bad.
Id really like a gsxr 1000 tho
