Ironically, the guy who taught me Cisco was ex-military mofo and I would rate him as one of the best lecturers I've ever sat in with. Carlow IT all the way baby. You would've liked him. He had a great story of a certain 'fugee who was calling in mortar strikes via mobile phone on their position on a regular basis but who couldn't be shot because he wasn't technically an enemy combatant til they got clarification that someone directing artillery technically is. The following morning there was no less than five long-range snipers on top of the base betting who could hit him first. And they did. Lots.
Somewhat heartening that the Bord Snip Nua debate has 'degenerated' into talk of making Ireland better, period.
The only thing that really works for places like Wexford and Cavan, Klaus, is better road links to Dublin. It pains me to say that but it's true. Otherwise the only thing to come out of the place are web start-ups like Octane and DoneDeal.
Seriously. I was at a cafe the other day and the owner of DoneDeal.ie pulled up in a Maserati.
Where did I go wrong?
