I was there myself on sunday; a friend of mine was racing his Punto (he narrowly avoided the mess in turn 3 as it unfolded 6ft infront of his car ). Saw your Exige there motorhead... my Elise was just past you, behind the grandstand. I thought that Mini did very well to hold off the Elise in 2nd place for so long, and kept up with it even after it was overtaken. Looked like Pat's 111R in the same race too?

Ya, plenty of action there, but I was glad to see none of our Octaner's involved!

Pat will be glad to hear I witnessed a certain Clio driver getting a taste of his own medicine on turn 1, when a mini drove him out of it on the inside and made the two of them spin!

[quote=VeeAte;303740]Was watching from the grandstand for the Punto/Uno off... quite a few cars went into Bridgestone... few less came out. It was an all Punto off, the Uno's were trailing well behind. Think I saw them tow at least 3, maybe 4 cars back.[quote]

I wish you were right. The Unos started 10 seconds after the Puntos, I was in an Uno, by the time we got to turn three, the yellows were waving, and there was just one car off, Vicky Reilly's. The second place Uno broke a gear linkage and spun and two others hit him....

Not great. One of my shortest races ever. Went out in an Uno, rained on Saturday so didn't get a chance to sort it, qualified 5th. Changed loads before the race, car felt way better even on the warm up lap! Good start, backed out of it at turn one to avoid damage and got caught up in the turn three pile up!!!
Forgot how much fun Unos are to drive though!! Zero grip, back end all over the place!!
Anyone wanna buy an Abarth?!

Some great footage there Piers of my worst race start to date.I always made up a few places at the start before but this time several minis got by me.I tried going up the pitlane exit to get past the clios which had worked in the past but not this time.I eventually got back past a few of them as the race went on but I never really got into a rythm and was off my normal pace.Looking at the time sheets though most of the others were a bit slower too so I think the track conditions werent great.I also had to brim the car with fuel to combat fuel surge and when I weighed the car afterwards it was about 25kg heavier than normal which didnt help. The 1st race on the other hand was great fun and I had some great dices with Simon Quinn and Richard Redmond and was particularly happy about my overtake of Richard Redmond around the outside going into turn 3 on what turned out to be the final lap after the tdp evo left oil all over the main straight and the race was stopped.Looking forward to the next race on the international in a few weeks, hopefully my driving will have improved.
