Default 323f V6

I loved these. I'd a lowly 1.5, but really wanted the 2.0 V6.

The green piping on the leather & the wooden dash of this example is a little bit incongruous, but for £1,200 & €640 VRT it's a rare and characterful motor.

Yes please. Beautifully understated, as well as bags of character.

I like it, I believe those 323f's drove quite nicely. 2.0l six pot engines aren't usually the most efficient or fastest things around but are a great way to have a low tax nice sounding motor.

Was this the same running gear as the Xedos 6?

Dunno Evad, but it would make sense. They'd just under 150bhp if I recall. CHECKED: 145bhp & 135lb/ft giving 126mph, 60 in 8.6sec.

Low figures, but it came out in 1994, and they weren't too bad for a 2.0L I suppose (bearing in mind you could have an 2.0 Audi 80 in the early 90s with 90bhp!).

Nice, smooth sound from them out of the box: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/6...F-V6_76779.htm

And some tweaking, such as a white dash, gives this throaty sound - 360 CS me hole! : http://www.myvideo.de/watch/2964312/Mazda_323F_V6_Sound

I love the leather, but I hate the dash!

Still, I'd have one.

Wanted a 1.5 way back, but couldn't get insurance on it!

What I didn't know at the time was that the 1.5 was only 80bhp or something.

Wasn't there a 2.5 V6 also? An ex-boss of mine had one back in the 90s. He could have had his pick of cars but chose, and loved, his 323.
